Softube dropped a shrunk-down Console 1, and it costs way less. The new Console 1 Compact strips the bigger unit's knob-per-function vibe into a desk-friendly size, built for engineers craving hands-on control without eating the space or the price of the full rig.
It packs 16 touch-sensitive Analog Feel potentiometers, a high-resolution screen, and a single button that flips between full EQ and full Dynamics, so nobody has to juggle two knob banks at once.
Bundled with it comes the Core Mixing Suite, which handles the actual sound. You get a Softube Tape and preamp section, a Shape transient shaper, a pair of equalizers, three compressors modeled on FET Compressor Mk II, Bus Processor, and an OPTO unit, and a drive section for saturation.
The panel is bead-blasted aluminum in a finish Softube dubs Nordic Night Sky, with RGB LEDs reacting as settings shift. It hooks up over USB-C, skips any subscription, and plays nice with Logic Pro, Cubase, Ableton Live, and Pro Tools.
It ships at $499 USD, or €495 and £429 with VAT.
