Sol throws MacG under the bus in Minnie lawsuit

A podcast co-host just threw his partner under the bus in a major lawsuit. Sol Phenduka has legally distanced himself from comments made by MacG on their show, Podcast and Chill. TV personality Minnie Dlamini is taking the pair to the Equality Court over remarks about her relationships and character, calling them hate speech and harassment. She seeks damages of one million rand for herself and a further one point five million for a group named Women for Change.

In his court response, Phenduka argues the offensive statements came solely from MacG. He claims no involvement in editing or uploading the show, stating he is merely a co-host without control over content. Phenduka also defended the casual use of the word smashing when discussing a guest's romantic history, calling it common slang without negative intent. He insists his own comments do not qualify as discrimination.

Phenduka was previously fired from Kaya FM due to the controversy. He questioned why money should go to the women's organization since it is not part of the legal case. When contacted about the affidavit, Phenduka said his lawyers prepared it, and he needed to review the document before commenting. MacG has not publicly addressed the lawsuit or his co-host's legal maneuvering.
