Someone strapped an RTX 4090 laptop to a screen, calls it a handheld

Bilibili creator Qingchen DIY constructed a portable gaming machine featuring NVIDIA's RTX 4090 laptop graphics processor. The custom device combines a laptop motherboard with a 12.5-inch display and an Intel Core i9-14900HX processor. This configuration delivers performance that surpasses current handheld gaming systems by significant margins. The creator equipped the machine with standard gaming controls and designed cutouts similar to commercial portable devices. Memory specifications feature 64 gigabytes of DDR5-5600 RAM alongside two terabytes of solid-state storage.

Testing demonstrated the device runs demanding titles like God of War, Horizon Forbidden West, and Cyberpunk 2077 at 4K resolution settings. Most existing handheld systems struggle to maintain adequate frame rates at 1080p resolution with these same games. The graphics processor maintains temperatures around 72 degrees Celsius during gaming sessions despite relying on internal cooling mechanisms. While the device's substantial size challenges traditional handheld classifications, the project demonstrates remarkable engineering achievement. This modification creates gaming capabilities that exceed current portable gaming technology by several years.
