Sony backed solo project Lost Soul Aside helps struggling players

Chinese developer Yang Bing prepares Lost Soul Aside for its August 29 launch across PlayStation 5 and PC platforms. YouTuber A9VG recently demonstrated the action game through new gameplay footage. Sony Interactive Entertainment will publish this title simultaneously on both systems. The project began as a solo effort in 2014 before expanding through Sony's China Hero Project initiative. Combat mechanics emphasize skill-based attacks rather than complex combinations.

Players execute light and heavy strikes while managing simplified stamina systems. Four distinct weapon categories provide varied combat approaches: single swords, large blades, scythes, and hybrid gun-swords. Character advancement occurs through talent trees that enhance both equipment and abilities. The game offers assistance buffs for players experiencing repeated failures instead of traditional difficulty settings. Linear level design incorporates platforming segments alongside potion crafting systems for healing and combat enhancement.
