SpaceX Starlink rolls into Bangladesh as Lauren Dreyer hails Yunus and digital push

SpaceX Vice President Lauren Dreyer met with Bangladesh's Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus on Friday at the State Guest House Jamuna. She praised the government's efficient coordination that enabled Starlink's successful launch. Dreyer said SpaceX operates in 150 countries but has never seen such quick decision-making. The company appreciates Bangladesh's decisive actions. She expressed interest in future collaboration.

Professor Yunus discussed the nation's technology needs during their conversation. He mentioned connectivity challenges during monsoon flooding periods. The Chief Adviser highlighted remote hill regions lacking proper schools and medical facilities. His administration plans online education for 100 schools in isolated areas. Digital healthcare services will help distant communities consult doctors remotely.

Yunus emphasized how digital health benefits pregnant women who need assistance visiting doctors. The system allows home consultations instead. Bangladeshi expatriates abroad will access doctors speaking their language. Many avoid overseas medical care due to communication barriers. Dreyer praised Yunus's anti-corruption efforts and governance vision.
