St Petersburg Bridges Stay Down on Victory Night

St. Petersburg bridges will stay down all night after the Victory Day celebrations. City officials at Mostotrest said bridges never go up during holidays. People can cross any bridge they want on May 9-10 without waiting.

Drivers should plan their routes with this information. Locals and tourists can move freely around the city overnight. The bridges typically rise at night to let ships pass through the Neva River. Three bridges received special festive lights earlier for the Victory Day holiday.

The holiday marks the end of World War II in Europe. Many people attend celebrations and want to travel home late at night. Keeping bridges down helps everyone reach their destinations faster.
