St. Petersburg lights up key landmarks to mark Victory Day celebrations. Three bridges — Betancourt, Troitsky, and Dvortsovy — glow with St. George ribbon colors for the 80th Victory anniversary. Vice-Governor Sergey Kropachev said the special lighting will return during four more holidays as part of the city's outdoor lighting program.
The Lakhta Center joins the celebration with festive lights from May 8-11, running from 9:30 p.m. until 5 a.m. Flames will burn atop the Rostral Columns during the military parade from 9 a.m. to noon. They will light up again from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. during the fireworks display. The Monument to Heroic Defenders of Leningrad at Victory Square features "Rays of Victory" lighting up the night sky on May 9.
