Stormers Crash Out as Stars Say Goodbye

Glasgow Warriors beat the Stormers 36-18 during their quarter-final match at Scotstoun Stadium on Friday night. The defending champions eliminated Cape Town's team from playoff competition for the second straight year. Director of rugby John Dobson called the defeat their worst showing across recent seasons. Several veteran players competed for the final time wearing Stormers colors before leaving the franchise. Joseph Dweba, Herschel Jantjies, Ben Loader, Paul de Wet and Dave Ewers all said goodbye after the loss.

The Stormers took an early 3-0 advantage through Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu's successful penalty kick. Captain Salmaan Moerat left the field for head injury assessment and Seabelo Senatla received a yellow card. Glasgow seized control of the match momentum and scored tries through Rory Darge and Kyle Rowe. Senatla responded with his return from the sin-bin but Henco Venter gave Glasgow a 19-13 halftime lead. The Warriors dominated the second half and pulled away for a convincing victory.

Dobson praised his team's scrum performance and Senatla's individual efforts as positive takeaways from the disappointing result. The coach acknowledged Glasgow's defensive pressure and attacking ability throughout the contest. Several young players gained valuable experience despite the elimination from championship contention. The franchise lost multiple key veterans during the season due to various injuries. Dobson expressed optimism about squad depth and scrum culture moving forward next season.
