Strike Suspense as NLC Summons CLOGSAG

The National Labour Commission ordered CLOGSAG and the Births and Deaths Registry boss to meet Thursday. Officials want both sides to appear for talks about their workplace problems. CLOGSAG members started striking after disputes with registry management over working conditions. The commission told union leaders to stop their industrial action until the hearing happens. Labour officials plan to help settle the fight between workers and their employers.

The summons shows how the commission handles labor disputes across government offices. CLOGSAG represents thousands of civil servants and local government workers throughout Ghana. Registry staff provide birth certificates and death records for citizens nationwide. The strike affects services that families need for important life events. Commission members hope quick talks can end the work stoppage before more problems develop.
