Subhash Ghai gets nostalgic, melody memories steal the scene

Veteran director Subhash Ghai posted on social media about how real film music comes from an emotional connection rather than just paying composers. He got inspired after watching a 95-year-old woman belt out "Bada Dukh Dina" with perfect energy, and that pushed him to video call legendary composer Pyarelal to talk about their creative partnership back in the day.

The duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal cranked out soundtracks for around 750 movies from the 1960s through the late 1990s. Their breakthrough came with Parasmani, and they locked in their reputation with the Dosti soundtrack. Ghai wished Pyarelal a long, healthy life while remembering his late partner Laxmi, emphasizing that their bond during those decades produced timeless music through genuine artistic chemistry rather than transactional relationships.
