The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, launched a new high tech interactive space at Universiti Malaya called UM Immersive 120. This project celebrates the university's one hundred and twentieth anniversary. The university's Vice Chancellor, Professor Datuk Seri Dr Noor Azuan Abu Osman, stated the initiative aims to showcase the institution's role in building the nation and its global influence. He described it as an innovative digital journey through the university's founding, struggles, and future goals, using visuals and audio to make its history something visitors can experience directly, not just a standard exhibit.
Following the launch, the Sultan, who also serves as the university's Chancellor, visited the Universiti Malaya Art Gallery. There he viewed an exhibition titled Legacy in Canvas, which honors his late father, Al Marhum Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah. The display features a series of portraits tracing the late Sultan's path from his time as a law student through his careers as a Magistrate and Chief Justice, ultimately becoming Chancellor, highlighting his commitment to legal principles and academic achievement.
