SuperSport Under Pressure in Half Game Decider

Andre Arendse leads SuperSport United as a temporary coach and must choose players who handle pressure well. The team faces Golden Arrows soon to finish a match that was stopped at halftime due to power problems. SuperSport sits 15th on the league table and risks playing playoff games to avoid relegation. The original game ended 1-1 when the lights went out at Lucas Moripe Stadium during February. Cape Town City finished their season with enough points to stay ahead of SuperSport.

Arendse spoke after his team lost 2-0 to Richards Bay at Peter Mokaba Stadium last Saturday. He said SuperSport does not need to win against Arrows, but believes they can do it. The coach seeks players who excel under pressure in crucial matches. Only half remains to complete the suspended game against Golden Arrows. Team officials have not announced the exact date for the restart.

SuperSport must control their performance better than they did against Richards Bay, according to Arendse. The coach felt disappointed with how his players performed during the weekend loss. He warned against playing defensive soccer because it invites too much pressure from opponents. SuperSport cannot make any mistakes during the crucial half against Arrows. The team needs improvement to avoid finishing in playoff positions.
