Swabi marks the martyrdom anniversary of Captain Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed

Swabi held a big event to honor Captain Karnal Sher Khan on his 26th death anniversary. The brave soldier earned Pakistan's top military award, the Nishan-e-Haider. Major General Anjum Riaz attended as the main guest at the ceremony. He placed flowers on the hero's grave and said prayers for his soul. The general also wrote nice words about the fallen warrior and met his family members.

Captain Sher Khan came from Swabi district back in 1970. He became one of just ten people who received Pakistan's highest military honor. During the 1999 Kargil war, he showed amazing courage against Indian troops. The captain defended five important army posts high up at 17,000 feet on a mountain called Gultari. He never gave up fighting and died with his finger still on his weapon's trigger.

The enemy soldiers wrote a letter praising his bravery after the battle ended. They said Captain Sher Khan deserved the highest award for his fearless fighting. His sacrifice became legendary among Pakistani forces. The annual ceremony keeps his memory alive for future generations. People remember him as a true hero who gave everything for his country.
