Switch 2 guzzles of power in Fortnite test as iPhone 16 Pro Max stays cool

YouTuber Dame Tech tested gaming performance between Apple's iPhone 16 Pro Max and Nintendo's Switch 2 console. The A18 Pro chip delivers steady 60 frames per second gameplay at 704p resolution while consuming just 4 to 5 watts of power. Apple's device maintains consistent visual quality without performance drops during Fortnite sessions. The smartphone runs maximum graphics settings regardless of charging status. Dame Tech found the iPhone's efficiency remarkable compared to traditional gaming hardware.

Nintendo's portable console achieves higher native resolutions of 1,224p when docked and 900p in handheld mode. The Switch 2 employs dynamic resolution scaling, which reduces the quality to 800p when docked and 600p when handheld during demanding gameplay moments. This scaling sometimes drops below the iPhone's fixed 704p output to maintain smooth framerates. The console draws between 18 to 19 watts when docked and 9 watts in portable mode. Nintendo's system wins raw performance battles while Apple dominates power efficiency metrics.
