Tamale Catholics Get Real About Good Friday

Catholics in Tamale marked Good Friday with special services remembering Christ's death. Father Anthony Frimpong from the Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church talked about the meaning of this important day. He described Good Friday as a time for Christians to reflect on Jesus' suffering on the cross. He asked everyone to join the Easter activities fully to show their faith through repentance.

Good Friday occurs during Holy Week, when Christians remember Jesus's death at Calvary. Father Frimpong encouraged all believers to strengthen their relationship with God. He reminded them to forgive others just as Jesus forgave sins. The church held special events, including processions that told the crucifixion story. Members sang slow, meaningful hymns during these ceremonies.

The priest called on Christians to help people who need assistance. This kindness follows Christ's teachings about caring for others. Many congregation members participated actively in the burial reenactment. Their prayers honored the sacrifice Jesus made for humanity. These traditional practices connect modern Christians to ancient faith traditions.
