Tanganda eyes its future as a new boss hunts for millions

Tanganda Tea Company just got a new CEO during a serious financial crunch. Sharon Nyasha Kodzanai is taking the helm, replacing outgoing chief Timothy James Graham Fennell. Kodzanai previously served as the company secretary and has spent decades in senior finance and administration roles within the group. Fennell is overseeing the transition after his lengthy tenure.

The leadership switch comes as the producer aims to secure eight million dollars from existing shareholders. This capital raise is meant to reboot operations amid falling sales figures. Tanganda reported a drop in annual revenue, citing delayed rains and heat stress that damaged plantations.

Challenges in formal retail markets also hurt beverage division volume earlier in the period. A shift in government exchange rate policy later helped a partial recovery. The board expressed confidence in Kodzanai guiding the firm toward sustainable growth and operational resilience. An extraordinary general meeting will be convened for shareholders to approve the needed funding.
