Tanzania confirms safety of citizens in Israel and Iran amid missile attacks

Tanzania checked on its people living in Israel and Iran after the countries fired missiles at each other last week. The government said all 168 citizens in Iran and over 200 people in Israel stayed safe during the attacks. Officials used their offices in Egypt, Kuwait, and other nearby countries to find out where everyone was staying.

Most Tanzanians in Iran are students living in two cities called Qom and Tehran. About 134 students study in Qom and 34 more live in the capital city. The government wants to bring everyone home safely from both countries.

Tanzania has more than 200 citizens working and studying across Israel. Embassy workers, students, and people with different jobs all live there. Fifty people already asked for help to come back home to Tanzania.

Iranian rockets hit many places but missed the Tanzania embassy building. Nobody was inside the office when the missiles struck the area. All the embassy staff and their families found safe places to stay.

The Foreign Affairs Ministry keeps talking to both countries about getting people out safely. Tanzania uses its diplomatic connections to track down citizens and offer help. Officials work hard to make sure everyone can return home without getting hurt.
