Tanzania's basically calling out the European Parliament for scheduling a whole hearing about alleged human rights violations and post-election violence without even letting the government explain its side first. Their embassy in Brussels fired off a diplomatic note saying this whole move ignores the partnership rules that are supposed to prioritize dialogue and consultation before anyone starts pointing fingers.
The government keeps saying foreign-backed groups helped fuel the recent chaos and that Western countries only care about human rights when it suits their agenda. They pointed out how the EU stays pretty quiet about way worse situations in Sudan and Gaza but somehow finds time to rake Tanzania over the coals. Tanzania already set up its independent commission to investigate what went down and asked either to postpone the hearing or at least get a chance to speak during it.
