Taraba Governor Tells NYSC Corps to Grow or Go

Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas asked young service members to help with farming projects across the state. He spoke Friday at the opening ceremony for new National Youth Service Corps members. The event happened at the Sibre orientation camp where 2025 Batch A Stream II participants began their service year. State Secretary Gebon Kataps delivered the governor's message to hundreds of corps members. Officials want the new arrivals to support food security efforts during their time in Taraba.

The governor said Taraba attracts more investors and businesses each year. He told corps members to find areas where they can make real changes. Many participants might want to stay after finishing their mandatory service period. Camp officials should work with the new arrivals on agricultural programs. The state needs young people to help grow its economy and development.

Kefas warned corps members to avoid dangerous activities during their service year. He mentioned problems like drug use, cult groups and bad social media behavior. The governor wants participants to follow rules and respect local communities. Corps members should talk with camp leaders and other participants during orientation. Discipline and good behavior help everyone succeed during the service year.
