Tatenda and Max Matirwadza never made it to graduation. The two Great Zimbabwe University students had left Harare for Masvingo when their car hit a truck from behind. Another student was with them, and none of the three could get out after the hit.
Things were grim at the scene. Fire crews had to cut through the wreck to reach those stuck inside. Sadly, the two had died before anyone could pull them free. The last student made it out alive but was still in critical shape.
