Teachers Praise ChildFund Aflatoun Boosting Student Success

Teachers across the North Bank Region shared amazing feedback about the ChildFund Aflatoun project. They noticed big improvements in how students learn and develop important life skills. The project helps kids do better in school and teaches them how to act around others.

Alagie Cham teaches at Kuntaya Lower Basic School and runs the Aflatoun Club there. He believes the program greatly benefits students by boosting their grades, helping them make friends, and teaching business skills. At first, they faced some problems, but many success stories emerged later. Students learned how to organize activities, raise money, and build relationships that help everyone.

Cham thinks the program came at just the right time because it taught children to work together and plan. This creates better futures for the students and their families. The club members support each other through small weekly donations that buy basic school supplies like pencils and books for everyone who needs them.

Another teacher named Madeline Jammeh noticed how the project changed their teaching style completely. Her students talk more during class and figure things out without much help. The program teaches children about what they deserve as young people and what duties they have toward others. A student named Oley mentioned learning about rights, proper behavior, and farming through Aflatoun activities.

ChildFund also helped Ndemban Lower Basic School by giving them many library materials. This encourages reading and improves students' academic performance. The headmistress, Haddy Senghore, is excited about their newly stocked library, which holds books for all grades from first through sixth. She noticed students doing much better since they started visiting the library regularly.

Before the new library arrived, many students found reading challenging. Today, they read independently and show clear progress during class time. Senghore asked for additional help with electricity, better airflow, and fixing a leaky roof in one classroom. Despite these remaining needs, she thanked ChildFund warmly for transforming their library and making students read better than ever.

Binta studies at Ndemban and says the library helped her grades tremendously. She never expected such an upgrade but feels grateful to ChildFund for creating such a valuable resource. The new materials benefit every student at the school by giving them access to different kinds of books they never had before.
