Tharshan ditches cop roles for wild ride in fantasy rom-com GodsJilla

Actor Tharshan began production on his latest project, GodsJilla, during Monday ceremonies that coincided with his birthday celebration. The performer expressed his desire to explore romantic comedy after receiving numerous action-oriented offers following his recent film Surrender. Tharshan explained his motivation to break away from police character roles and pursue the fantasy romantic comedy genre that had attracted his interest for an extended period.

Director Mohan Guruselva leads the project that features Gautham Vasudev Menon alongside Tharshan in primary roles. Alisha Mirani portrays the female protagonist while supporting actors Robo Shankar, KPY Vinoth, and Black Pandi complete the ensemble cast. The narrative centers on a disillusioned young man whose romantic disappointments trigger divine intervention and personal transformation.

Zinema Media and Entertainment Ltd produces the film with Creative Entertainers and Distributors and PGS Productions serving as co-producers. Technical personnel comprise cinematographer Shivraj, editor Aravindh B Ananth, composer Karthik Harsha, and art director Sourabh Kesav. The traditional blessing ceremony marked the initiation of principal photography for this mythological entertainment, which blends contemporary themes with celestial elements.
