The hack is fixed, but Google still won't show my property site. What now?

Has anyone been through this? Need some tips.

Someone got into my real estate site a while ago. The junk is gone, and the pages work fine. Yet Google has kicked most of them out of search. Organic visits? Pretty much dead.

Where things stand:

Search Console shows no security issues or manual actions.

Stuff I've done:

Sent in the sitemap again

Asked Google to index key pages

Got rid of spam URLs

A few things I'm stuck on:

How long did it take your site to bounce back after a hack?

For old spam links, is 404 fine, or should I use 410?

With no manual action, is there any point in asking for a review?

What else should I check?

I'd give it a few weeks, maybe 4 to 8, before getting too worried. Bad hacks can take more time, though. Google needs to trust those pages again. For spam links that won't come back, I'd use 410. It says they're gone for good, and they may drop out sooner than with 404. No manual action? Then there's no need to ask for a review. Also, check the Search Console removals tool and see if Bing still lists those hacked pages.
