Three Chinese nationals were held for using counterfeit RM100 notes at a hotel

Police caught three women from China trying to trick a hotel with fake money on Thursday. The ladies ranged from 18 to 47 years old and thought they could fool staff with phony cash. They brought a stack of 87 bogus hundred-ringgit bills to cover their massive hotel tab. The scammers owed the hotel exactly 8,700 ringgit for their fancy rooms. Hotel workers spotted the counterfeit notes and called cops right away.

Officers swooped down and grabbed all the evidence before the women could escape. They found those 87 fake hundreds along with one phony fifty and twenty-ringgit note. Police also took away two expensive Louis Vuitton handbags from the suspects. The crooks had hotel key cards and three fancy iPhones when officers arrested them. Investigators opened a case under Section 498B of the Penal Code against the trio.

A judge ordered the women to stay locked up for six whole days until July 9. Dang Wangi district police chief Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman handled the case personally. He wants everyone to watch out for fake money floating around the city. Citizens should call police or Bank Negara Malaysia if they spot suspicious banknotes. The chief says counterfeit cash hurts businesses and honest people across Malaysia.
