Three die in crowd surge at Algiers stadium

Three football fans died when they fell from the top section of a stadium during victory celebrations. The deadly accident happened at the 5 July Stadium in Algiers right after MC Alger secured their league championship. A safety barrier gave way under the pressure of excited supporters who rushed forward to celebrate their team's success. The collapse sent dozens of people tumbling down onto fans sitting below them. Local hospitals received more than 70 injured people from the stadium disaster.

MC Alger had just finished a 0-0 match against NC Magra to claim their second straight league title. The packed stadium erupted with joy as green smoke from celebration flares filled the air around the ground. Players and team staff rushed to local medical centers to give blood for the hurt supporters. Most of the injured fans have already left the hospitals after receiving treatment. Officials decided to delay the trophy ceremony because of the tragic events.

Algeria's President Abdelmadjid Tebboune sent his sympathy to the families who lost loved ones. He also wished for quick healing for everyone who got hurt during the stadium collapse. The health ministry confirmed the death count and said doctors treated the wounded at three different hospitals across the city. The accident cast a dark shadow over what should have been a perfect day for the defending champions. MC Alger managed to keep their title but the celebration turned into a nightmare for many supporters.
