Three remanded over violent land eviction in Wakiso

A Ugandan magistrate court has remanded three individuals until November 19 after charging them with forcibly entering private property and destroying structures in Busiro County's Bukasa area. Ibrahim Ssejjombwe, Allan Kyeyune, and Joseph Musoke allegedly led armed groups onto Block 314, Plot 846 between January and October 2025, demolishing worker housing, livestock shelters, crops, solar equipment, and a storage container belonging to Paul Biriibwa and Peter Biriibwa, who have held the land title since 2001.

Prosecutors say the defendants could not present documentation supporting their occupancy claims and carried out the evictions without judicial authorization. The case highlights escalating property conflicts in Wakiso District, where rapid urban expansion and competing land rights frequently result in violent confrontations over ownership.
