Three suspected suicides in Tsumeb, Windhoek, and Omusati

Three suspected suicides occurred across Namibia, including a 30-year-old student nurse at Tsumeb State Hospital who was discovered deceased in her residence at the Saamstaan location. Mathilde Alfeus left behind a written note, as did Raeza Fischer, a 27-year-old woman whose body was located at Okahandja Park in Windhoek. Authorities also recovered the remains of Wanekeni Ndivayele, a 21-year-old Angolan citizen, at Oshifo settlement in Omusati region, though no explanation was present.

National police spokesperson Kauna Shikwambi urged those experiencing emotional distress to seek assistance while calling on communities and institutions to establish supportive environments for vulnerable individuals. Investigations remain ongoing after families received notification.

Separately, an eight-year-old girl drowned after falling into a Namibia Water Corporation canal while collecting water near Ruacana. Rauna Mukulu slipped into the waterway at Etunda village, with authorities handling the incident.
