Tim Cook becomes the longest-serving Apple CEO as market value hits three trillion

Tim Cook has achieved a historic milestone by serving as Apple's chief executive for 5,091 days. This tenure surpasses Steve Jobs' combined leadership period of 5,090 days across his two separate appointments. Cook assumed the role in 2011 following Jobs' resignation and has maintained his position for nearly fourteen years. Apple reported record quarterly revenue of $94.04 billion during the third quarter of 2025. The company's market valuation has expanded from $348 billion to $3.03 trillion during Cook's leadership.

Critics argue that Cook has missed opportunities in artificial intelligence development and suggest replacing him with a product-focused leader. However, Apple's financial performance demonstrates sustained growth under his direction. The board of directors maintains strong support for Cook's continued leadership. Analysts expect Cook will remain in his current position for additional years given his track record and institutional backing.
