President Tinubu asked senators to approve his picks for three regional commissions. He sent the names to Senate President Akpabio on Thursday. The North Central group has nineteen members, with Cosmas Akiyir leading as chairman. The South West commission lists eighteen people under Senator Olubunmi Adetunbi. Eighteen candidates appear for the South-South region, with Chibudom Nwuche heading that group.
Cyril Yeltsin will serve as managing director in North Central. Charles Akinola will take that role for South West areas. Usoro Offiong Akpabio will handle daily operations as managing director of the South-South region. Senate committees must interview these people before making any final decisions. The president signed laws creating these commissions earlier this year.
