Tinubu to Reinstate Rivers Governor Fubara Subject to Four Conditions

President Bola Tinubu decided to bring back Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara from suspension. The meeting took place at the Presidential Villa in Abuja during late evening hours. Both sides agreed to end their dispute after talks with the president. DAILY POST first reported the resolution between the conflicting parties. The Cable news outlet revealed specific terms for the agreement.

Fubara will finish his current four-year term as governor under the new deal. He cannot run for office again when elections happen in 2027. FCT Minister Nyesom Wike gained the power to choose leaders for all 23 local government areas. The governor accepted responsibility for paying money owed to 27 state lawmakers. These assembly members had faced suspension because of their loyalty to Wike.

The lawmakers promised not to start impeachment actions against Fubara after returning to work. All outstanding allowances and benefits must be paid to the suspended legislators. The agreement settles a major political crisis that affected Rivers State government operations. Both political camps reached compromise terms through presidential mediation. The resolution allows normal governance to resume across the state.
