Tinubu's Renewed Hope is another constitution tweak

President Bola Tinubu expressed firm dedication to constitutional amendments that will enhance Nigeria's democratic framework. The leader addressed participants at Wednesday's Public Hearing on 1999 Constitution Review held in Abuja through Secretary to the Government George Akume. Tinubu characterized this legislative process as an exceptional chance to establish better governance, participation, and long-term progress. He emphasized that Nigeria's fundamental law remains dynamic and must adapt to citizens' evolving needs and national challenges. The president recognized Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu's leadership of the House Representatives Committee handling constitutional amendments, noting alignment with his Renewed Hope policy framework and appreciation for the committee's broad engagement with citizens, advocacy groups, political organizations, professional associations, and traditional leaders.
