Tom Holland whacked on the Spider-Man set, Leavesden chaos halts shoot

Actor Tom Holland experienced a head injury during stunt work for Spider-Man Brand New Day when equipment malfunctioned at Leavesden Studios. The 29-year-old performer received medical attention after a pull ring line broke during filming on September 22. Initial reports described the incident as a mild concussion, though sources later clarified the accident caused only a minor head bump. Production teams received instructions to halt filming for two weeks while Holland recovers.

The temporary shutdown will not impact the movie's scheduled July 31, 2026 release date according to studio representatives. Holland attended a charity event the following day with partner Zendaya, hosting a fundraising quiz for family causes. The British actor began performing at age nine through dance classes before landing roles in Billy Elliot the Musical. His film career launched with The Impossible in 2012, leading to appearances in How I Live Now, In the Heart of the Sea, and Wolf Hall before joining the Spider-Man franchise.
