A Trinity Bus carrying people from Kigali to Kampala went off the road and dropped into a water-filled ditch near Bukinda in Rukiga District, and three guys died while four others got hurt. Police say driver Habiyaremye Ananias was going way too fast down a slope when he lost control around 2:30 in the morning. The dead passengers got identified as Lubwama John Herbert, Habineza Alfred, and another Rwandan conductor named Gadaffi.
Kigezi cops showed up with ambulances and shipped the injured people to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital while bodies went to the morgue for autopsies. The bus door basically exploded when passengers tried bailing out of the sliding vehicle, and that crushed the three victims instantly.
