Trowers & Hamlins boosts disputes team with Kofluk hire

Trowers & Hamlins added Magda Kofluk from Stephenson Harwood to strengthen its construction disputes work in international markets. Kofluk joins as a partner after three years with her previous firm, where she worked as counsel in the international arbitration and construction groups. Senior associate Samantha Martin will also make the move.

Kofluk specializes in civil law construction arbitration and brings 14 years of disputes experience with a decade spent working in the Middle East on projects across Qatar, Oman, Iraq and the United Arab Emirates. Her work has involved major arbitrations for power plants, highways, airports, mixed-use developments, railways and stadiums. She serves as an arbitrator on panels at the Dubai International Arbitration Centre and the Saudi Centre for Commercial Arbitration.

Martin spent nearly five years as a managing associate at Stephenson Harwood following earlier work with DLA Piper in Dubai. The additions raise the share of women fee earners on the international construction disputes team to 75 percent from 66 percent. Trowers received approval to operate in Saudi Arabia earlier this month and plans to open a Riyadh office in early November.
