Trump snubs South Africa, G20 invite pulled in fiery feud

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa called it unfortunate that Trump is blocking his country from the Miami G20 gathering after some beef about how last week's summit went down in Johannesburg. Trump skipped the whole thing based on bogus claims about white farmers getting massacred and their land stolen, which the South African government keeps saying has zero evidence backing it up.

The handover ceremony for the G20 presidency got passed to some random US embassy staffer at a government building instead of going through proper channels, which apparently set Trump off even more. He posted that South Africa doesn't deserve membership anywhere and cut all payments plus subsidies immediately, while continuing to push the genocide narrative that fact checkers have repeatedly debunked.

Ramaphosa said his team tried fixing relations with Washington but Trump keeps hitting them with punishment based on straight misinformation about what's actually happening in the country. South African officials want other G20 countries to step up and protect the group's integrity against this kind of treatment.
