Trump Threatens to Axe Musk Subsidies, Tesla Panics

President Trump went after Elon Musk with serious threats about cutting government money. Trump said Musk takes more public cash than anyone else who ever lived. The president warned that without government help, Musk would have to shut down his businesses and go back to South Africa. Trump attacked electric car rules and said Americans should not be forced to buy them. He suggested his spending review team should look at all the money Musk receives.

Musk fired back at Trump without using his name directly. The billionaire posted a picture of a burning puppet with the word liar written across it. Musk said someone voted to increase America's debt by five trillion dollars. He warned that anyone who promised to cut spending but voted for huge debt increases would face challenges in primary elections. The post clearly targeted Trump and his administration.

These two powerful men used to work together during Trump's first presidency. Musk supported Trump's 2024 campaign and served on business advisory groups. Their friendship fell apart over disagreements about federal spending and environmental policies. Trump wants to eliminate green energy programs that help Musk's companies. The fight could split conservative voters and change how tech leaders deal with Washington politicians.
