Tshisekedi's plan for Congo war, prayers and a Benny Hinn crusade

Religious leaders from Uganda met with Democratic Republic of Congo President Félix-Antoine Tshisekadi Tshilombo at his Mount Ngaliema offices on Monday. The delegation featured Ugandan evangelist Dr. Robert Kayanja and Archbishop Evariste Ejiba Yamapia from the Church of Awakening in Congo. Their discussions focused on regional peace efforts and cross-border agricultural collaboration. The meeting addressed ongoing pacification attempts in eastern DRC and explored spiritual revival initiatives. Economic resilience through cooperative farming development formed another central topic.

Dr. Kayanja serves as personal pastor to Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni and expressed gratitude for the warm reception. He announced plans for American televangelist Pastor Benny Hinn to conduct a major crusade in Kinshasa with presidential support. Kayanja emphasized historical connections between Congo and East Africa through his grandfather's missionary work. He described Congo as fundamental to regional spiritual awakening and praised Tshisekedi's leadership vision. The evangelist highlighted strong cultural bonds linking the two nations.

Agricultural initiatives in northern Uganda and Karamoja region showcase potential models for eastern Congo development. Kayanja's projects encompass large-scale irrigation systems, livestock support programs, and community nutrition efforts. These programs target poverty reduction and improved living standards in previously neglected areas. He plans to return with specific proposals for enhancing food security across the DRC. The meeting demonstrated growing integration between religious diplomacy and regional development strategies.
