Two officials arrested for leaking interview questions in Kavango East

Two regional government administrators in Kavango East face corruption charges after authorities accused them of compromising a recruitment process through unauthorized information sharing. Jona Kangumbe, a deputy director of administration aged 51, allegedly transmitted interview questions by text message to control administrative officer Fatima Ndawedwa, aged 39, while serving on a selection panel for a constituency vacancy. Investigators say Kangumbe failed to disclose his personal relationship with Ndawedwa, with whom he has a child, creating what officials described as a substantial conflict of interest.

The Anti-Corruption Commission arrested both individuals following its investigation. Each received bail at the Ondangwa Magistrates' Court. Kangumbe faces multiple counts, including misusing his position for personal gain and providing improper benefits, while Ndawedwa stands accused of accepting such advantages. The matter returns to court in February 2026.
