Tyrese getting affairs in order, dodges warrant

Singer Tyrese Gibson faces misdemeanor animal cruelty charges after authorities say his Cane Corso mastiffs killed a neighbor's dog on Sept. 18 in a Buckhead neighborhood. Police issued a warrant, and Gibson was instructed to surrender by Sept. 26, but he has not complied. Fulton County Captain Nicole Dwyer confirmed multiple prior complaints about the large dogs roaming loose before the attack that killed the five-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Henry.

Gibson's attorney, Gabe Banks, stated his client is cooperating, and the dogs have been rehomed. Banks expressed sympathy for the family whose pet died from puncture wounds and internal bleeding. Dwyer told reporters Gibson has known about the warrant for more than a week, but his attorney said he is arranging his affairs before turning himself in. Authorities conducted a property search days after the incident, but Gibson and the animals were not located at the residence.
