U Ye Tint threatens Yangon with a book fortress and cinema makeover

Myanmar Deputy Information Minister U Ye Tint convened with the National Literary Award for Lifetime Achievement Selection Committee at the Printing and Publishing Department in Yangon on Wednesday morning. Officials reviewed award selection criteria and coordinated preparations for the upcoming ceremony honoring distinguished writers.

The minister later toured construction sites for a three-story Sarso Beikman building in Mingala Taungnyunt Township and inspected library renovations at Sarpay Beikman. He directed contractors to maintain quality standards while meeting deadlines and encouraged staff to prepare furnishings in conjunction with the construction work.

U Ye Tint concluded his inspection at Wazira Cinema on Bogyoke Road in Kyauktada Township. The deputy minister met with company officials working to restore the historic theater to international standards and requested expedited proposals for preservation measures.
