Ubisoft plans to release a Director's Cut of Avatar Frontiers of Pandora, insider Tom Henderson reports. The game came out in December 2023 after six years of work at Ubisoft Massive. Critics gave it mixed reviews, with some rating it 7.5 out of 10. Sales fell short of company hopes despite the famous movie brand behind it.
The team kept adding features after launch with two paid add-ons called The Sky Breaker and Secrets of the Spires. These extra packs let players fly on banshees, fight against supply planes, meet new Na'vi groups, and explore tall mountain areas. The Director's Cut will likely contain all this extra content, with other improvements.
Ubisoft probably wants this new version to coincide with the release of the next movie, Fire and Ash, which is coming December 19, 2025. The package might attract fans excited about the film who missed the game the first time around.
