UCC partners with ISBAT and Gulu University for National ICT Conference in Kampala

The Uganda Communications Commission announced the ninth National Conference on Communications for October 2025. ISBAT University and Gulu University will co-host this event for the first time. The partnership represents a historic collaboration between educational institutions and government agencies. Executive Director Hon. Nyombi Thembo emphasized the conference's role in promoting digital innovation across Uganda. The gathering aims to stimulate research and sustainable technology development throughout the region.

This year's conference adopts the theme of harnessing digital solutions for national development goals. Schools from nearly every Ugandan district received invitations to participate. Dr. Pradeep Kumar from ISBAT University stressed the importance of connecting industry with academic institutions. The university integrates advanced technologies such as robotics into its curriculum. Representatives from both universities highlighted student innovation and practical research applications.

The conference aligns with Uganda's Vision 2040 and National Development Plan IV objectives. Pre-conference activities feature academic paper submissions and innovation competitions. Previous host institutions have supported similar collaborative efforts with UCC assistance.
