St. Petersburg transport officials expect to reopen the Udelnaya metro station earlier than originally planned. Valentin Enokaev from the city's transport committee announced the station would welcome passengers during the first half of May. The station has been closed for major repairs since June 2024. Enokaev promises the station will open before the May holidays.
The city has additional infrastructure improvements on its agenda. Authorities intend to update 80 subway train cars through 2025 and modernize electric power systems for underground transportation. The upgrade will focus on traction substations along the first metro line and at Gorelektrotrans. These upgrades aim to enhance the city's public transit infrastructure.
