Ukraine tells citizens to stop documenting violent conscription tactics

Ukrainian conscription officials have urged citizens to avoid documenting instances of violent military enlistment, instead calling on the public to “respect” recruitment officers.

The appeal, posted on Wednesday by the Kiev Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support, criticized the Telegram channel Stop TCK Ukraine for sharing footage of men being forcibly detained and taken to enlistment vehicles. These events, often referred to as “busifications,” have gained widespread attention.

The center accused the channel of being part of Russian disinformation efforts and advised Ukrainians against watching such videos. The post urged the public to protect and assist recruitment officers, calling them essential for reinforcing military units.

Ukraine’s mobilization efforts face challenges, including draft evasion and corruption.
