Umar Abdullahi Umar, son of former All Progressives Congress national chairman Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has distributed support packages to over 3,000 party members across Kano State through an initiative launched at Armani Event Centre. The Executive Director for Technical Services at the Rural Electrification Agency provided agricultural materials including tricycles, fertilizers, herbicides, improved seeds, solar irrigation pumps and processing equipment to recipients from all 44 local government areas.
The benefactor indicated preparations are underway for additional distribution phases targeting party supporters who did not receive assistance during the initial round. He attributed his motivation to serve communities beyond his Tofa, Dawakin-Tofa and Rimingado federal constituency to inspiration from regional political figures including Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin and Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna.
Following the distribution event, approximately 500 New Nigeria People's Party members defected to the APC, with assurances they would receive equal treatment as established members within the organization.
