Executive Director James Kasigwa announced that all importers must utilize this digital portal for mandatory inspections. The system supports regulations requiring clearance certificates before goods leave customs areas. Import operations will receive enhanced transparency through automated certificate generation.
The portal provides importers with digital dashboards for tracking laboratory samples and monitoring progress. Valid conformity certificates and roadworthiness documents receive immediate processing without additional delays. Mobile applications handle pre-export verification exemption requests while maintaining enhanced cybersecurity protocols. Business costs decrease through reduced processing times and improved coordination between government agencies. Uganda imported merchandise valued at over 38 trillion shillings during the previous financial year.
