UNESCO summit in Islamabad aims fake news epidemic with MIL crackdown

The collaborative approach impressed international observers monitoring the country's progress.

Heavy hitters from journalism including Asma Shirazi, Mohammad Malick, Amir Ilyas Rana, and Hamid Mir backed the initiative during heated panel discussions. PFUJ President Afzal Butt joined fellow reporters in demanding educational reforms to protect democracy from misinformation attacks. Government officials, university professors, media veterans, and civil society groups shared ideas throughout the packed conference. The comprehensive policy blueprint aims to strengthen democratic institutions while building public resistance against digital manipulation.
