Utah killer Tyler Robinson was a dropout genius with a 34 ACT score

Authorities arrested Tyler Robinson after family members reported his confession to the Charlie Kirk shooting at Utah Valley University. The 22-year-old Washington County resident registered as a nonpartisan voter while his parents maintained Republican affiliations. Robinson scored 34 on the ACT but dropped out of Utah State University after one semester in 2021. Family dinners featured his criticism of Kirk as someone spreading hate. His roommate provided Discord messages where Robinson discussed retrieving a rifle from a hidden location.

Investigators recovered ammunition containing engraved messages like "Hey fascist" and references to anti-fascist songs. Robinson wrapped the weapon in a towel and concealed it in bushes before the attack. Police found no prior criminal history for the suspect. Officials confirmed Robinson acted alone in the rooftop shooting incident. The case highlights the political tensions within families that transcend party lines.
