VARREL gains Bic Camera sponsorship in Japan

A Japanese retail giant just threw a massive sponsorship lifeline to an esports squad, and the gaming community is genuinely hyped. VARREL inked a deal with the multi-story electronics-and-everything-else chain Bic Camera, the one you spot near every major train station in Japan, to bankroll tournament runs, fan events, and broadcasts across both local and global circuits.

Neither side revealed the contract's value or duration, but both framed the partnership as a play to drag esports into the mainstream and cook up fresh fan experiences. Bic Camera's rep emphasized the chain's philosophy of delivering joy to customers, while CELLORB director Ko Sakuma called the retailer a longtime pillar of the country's gaming scene.

VARREL fields rosters in VALORANT, League of Legends, Overwatch 2, Street Fighter 6, and Tekken 8, amassing over $1.2 million in total career winnings. Bic Camera itself trades on the Tokyo Stock Exchange with a roughly $1.73 billion market cap, while CELLORB previously secured about $6.7 million to fuel talent grabs and IP development.
