Verstappen accuses Norris of ruining Singapore pole bid

Max Verstappen criticized Lando Norris after qualifying second for the Singapore Grand Prix on Saturday at Marina Bay Street Circuit. The Red Bull driver said Norris created dirty air by driving ahead of him in Q3, and he noted Formula 1 cars remain sensitive to turbulence when following other vehicles closely. Verstappen said drivers typically maintain eight-second gaps to avoid aerodynamic disruption, but Norris positioned himself within two seconds.

Norris dismissed the complaint and suggested Red Bull frequently raises grievances about racing incidents. Verstappen responded that he would make similar comments if their positions were reversed, and he declined to confirm whether he planned retaliation against his rival. The reigning champion expressed satisfaction with his qualifying performance despite missing pole position, and he emphasized that Red Bull demonstrated competitive pace on the challenging street circuit.
